Autumn sums it up nicely
The Poppinstock Academy for Gifted Children is the school that most of the kids in Precocious attend. The school is an elite private academy that only accepts children of exceptional intellect and merit. It is only a short distance from both Gemstone Estates and Copper Road, and indeed 10 of the 13 of the students in the combined 4th and 5th grade class are either Gemstone or Copper kids. Ms. Monster supervises and teaches this class, which includes the comic's core gang of four and three other Gemstone kids as well as the six students that constitute the "other" side of the room. Much of the comic strip focuses on the dealings and exchanges in the classroom amongst these kids, who have thus far engineered a rowdy revolt, engaged in a fiery class election, and endured randomly-assigned group projects.
